Extract: Excuse For Beavis And Butthead

If you're a fan of this blog, you probably don't need an introduction to the work of Mike Judge. But to those who do, here's a short resume: Office Space, Beavis and Butthead, and King of the Hill. Add to that his latest upcoming comedy, Extract, starring Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis and Ben Affleck. Frankly, I found the trailer to be nothing special and actually found that parts of the plot shown were detractors, but I'll discuss that at the end. In fact, the official trailer(s) aren't even worth their own blog, but one trailer certainly is. Being the creator of Beavis and Butthead, who better than to promote the film?

[Warning: Language NSFW. If you work at a Nunnary.)

So, that was awesome. Heck, bring back Beavis and Butthead. That promotion trailer seemed like it had more going for it than this new movie, Extract. Here's the official trailer, you can decide which you'd prefer to see.

Now for what I've been alluding to. The one part of this trailer that makes me consider not going to see it, is the drug usage. To me, it just seems like an artist working blue. Yes, I'm calling the guy who did Beavis and Butthead and Office Space an artist who doesn't resort to creating controversial, risque, racy, obscene or taboo material. Mike Judge works best with themes like sex, failure, and immaturity. This movie already looks like it'll end up on my Netflix queue rather than my must-see Summer Cinema Hits.
