Clearance Bin Video Game Review: The Simpsons

Title: The Simpsons
System: We played it on the Xbox 360, but it's available on most consoles
Rating: T

Welcome to the Clearance Bin Video Game Review by Organized Remains. We’re looking at The Simpsons game for the Xbox 360, but is also for every other system out there. The price we found it at was $10 used.

Here at Organized Remains we grew up with The Simpsons, and let’s just get it out of the way. Yes the new episodes are weak, indeed! When I got this game, I thought it was going to be based on the movie… sigh. Luckily I was very surprised! They wrote a story just for the game. Get this! The story is actually great and hilarious. It has many references to older Simpsons’ episodes, and making fun of many video games.

The Gameplay is pretty good. You get to play as all five Simpsons characters (even Maggie), but each chapter or episode allows two characters. Each character has their own power, so you need to help each other out. While in an episode you will have to switch between the two characters assigned to the episode.

That is unless you play two-player. Playing two-player made this game a lot more fun for me. Well that is unless you have a second player that doesn’t cooperate. Luckily I had a great teammate, and didn’t have to kick anyone off the controller. So playing two-player is greatly recommended.

Final Say: Playing this well done platformer, laughing at the in-game jokes, having the ability of playing as different characters with different abilities, playing two-player, collecting collectables and watching great story cutscenes. I have to recommend this, I just had a blast playing this game. It’s a 5 to 6 hour game, so $60 I would think is asking too much, but at the current $10 used price, you cannot lose!
