Movie Review: Eagle vs. Shark

Before Watching: A lot of people have suggested that if you liked Napoleon Dynamite you will like Eagle vs. Shark. Since I did like Napoleon Dynamite a lot, I checked this film out.

Premise: Lily (Loren Horsley) is reserved and awkward, while Jarrod (Jemaine Clement) is an introspective oddball who's blind to Lily's affection for him -- until a celebration mixed with a strange plan to exact revenge on Jarrod's high school foe brings the two misfits together. Oscar-nominated director Taika Cohen also penned this offbeat romantic comedy co-starring Joel Tobeck as Lily's brother and sounding board. (Taken from Netflix)

My Highlights: The characters were the biggest highlight, and how insane they were. We here at Organized Remains don't know too many people from New Zealand (Which we believe was the setting of this movie), but we wonder if everyone over there acts like this. I think this is the only film I've seen that took place in New Zealand. The fight at the end of the movie was also a great highlight from the movie.

Overall Rating: I liked Napoleon Dynamite better than Eagle vs. Shark but that doesn't mean it was horrible. I enjoyed the story, and the characters. The animated scenes with a walking apple I could have done without. The movie earns a little more than average with a 3.5*'s out of 5*'s with quite a few laugh out loud moments to the movie.

When You Should See It: If you liked Napoleon Dynamite then give it a rent. It's nothing you have to rush out and see. If you didn't like Napoleon Dynamite you won't like this movie. If you haven't seen Napoleon Dynamite, then go check out the trailer to both movies, and rent.
