Mad TV's Will Sasso In Upcoming Three Stooges Film

According to Variety, there's a big casting news-break on the upcoming Three Stooges film. This project has been in development hell for quite a while, and last I had heard all three stooges had been cast. I don't really care of two out of the three stooges get removed from the film, but one I was truly looking forward to and hoping stays on-board. The three in question were Benicio del Toro, Jim Carrey and Sean Penn. Naturally, I'm talking about Jim Carrey, who would have made an awesome Curly, as rumors had originally slated him. Now, MAD TV's Will Sasso has been officially cast as Curly, but I'm a fan of Sasso. One of the better comedic actors on MAD TV, but hopefully Carrey just moves onto Larry. Apparently, directors The Farrelly Brothers were hoping to lock in Johnny Knoxville as Moe. Also, The Farrellys were looking to break the film up into three 27 minute acts. That might be a refreshing format for a 90 minute comedy, or it might be a complete failure. I'll give it a try before judging. Anyways, here's some Will Sasso:

April 4, 2011 Update: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Sasso will be joined by Sean Hayes. You may remember Hayes for his role as Jack in the near decade long running, Will & Grace TV show. Hayes will play Larry in what is now without a doubt now one of the most disappointing castings for a film yet. Seriously, How do you go from a cast of big names like Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio del Toro, to Will Sasso, Sean Hayes, and potentially Johnny Knoxville. I get that we're in a time of realization where big names don't necessarily make great movies, but man could this film have used a big name attached to it.
