Standouts:
Southern Bumpkins from the West Virginia backwoods come out to tell their tales on the mysterious Mothman. Some of it is very well done and actually can convince you that events did unfold as explained. Other parts are so ridiculous, they discredit themselves just by speaking them. But what really stands out in this film is the run-time. I deserve a medal for running this marathon. 155 minutes. That's 2 hours 35 minutes. I like cryptozoology a great deal, but it's mindblowing someone essentially wrote their dissertation in video-form on The Mothman. Let me give you a comparison.

* Schindler's List - 195 minutes
* Braveheart - 177 minutes
* Avatar - 162 minutes
* The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly - 161 minutes.
* Eyes of the Mothman - 155 minutes.

How long is really needed to cover the story of The Mothman? I'm thinking 90 minutes at best. Most could probably condense it into 60 minutes.

Overall Rating:
This is a case of a run-time REALLY killing the value of a film. There's no reason I would ever go back to watch this film because it's needlessly long. I'll give the film some respect for putting a lot of information and different theories in, but that's only going to raise the bar to 3 1/4 *'s out of 5, or 6 1/2 *'s out of 10.
