Bossypants Review

Source of Image

Being a fan of Tina Fey's work like 30 Rock (yes I even enjoyed Mean Girls), I wanted to check out her new book that came out, Bossypants. I listened to the audio book which was narrated by Tina Fey, and she did a very good job at reading her story. It's a very funny look into the life, and wisdom of Tina Fey: from her childhood, to her playing Sarah Palin, the book has it all.

This autobiography is certainly different from other ones I've read. Tina Fey ends up exaggerating some of the stories and adding metaphors to everything. That being said, you can still tell what's real and what she exaggerated for comical relief.

After I was done, I did some research on the book and found that this was geared towards women. Being a man, I still found the humor in Bossypants to be hilarious. While the book was overall very funny, there was this one part that I remember from the beginning. Fey was talking about growing up as a woman. Since I never experienced this stuff as a kid, it was interesting and Fey's words really made it comedic.

Final Say:
I really enjoyed the book, and if you like 30 Rock then you shouldn't have any problems with this book. I'm not really sure why people are saying it's geared towards women. The only reason I can think of is because Tina Fey is a woman, and she wrote about herself. If you're a man, don't let this discourage you. Check out the book if you like Tina Fey's work.
