Hitchhiker's Guide Video Game

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of the most well known books I own, and now it will become a video game. While there was a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game back in the 80s (which was done in all-text) I think a game based on the book using today's technology is a must-happen. Actually seeing the different locations in the book could be visually mind-blowing. Currently, the movie is the closest thing to viewing the locations, but a video game would let you experience traveling through these different locations.

No information yet about what type of game this could be. The game is being made by Hothead Games, the same people that made the Penny Arcade games. If they can make a video game out of comic strip characters (a pretty good game too) then I have faith in Hothead Games to make a quality Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game.

For my guess on what genre this could be, I'm thinking a point-and-click adventure game. That doesn't mean it couldn't work just as well as a regular adventure game of course. There are tons of scenes in the book with action. One level could be when you're trying to escape out of a Vogon ship, shooting Vogons while Vogon Poetry is being told over an intercom. Anything works for me, I just want a well-done Hitchhiker's Guide video game!
