The Hangover 2 Review

image from Amazon

Premise:
2 Years after the events of the first movie, the Wolf Pack is back together and going to Thailand for Stu's latest wedding. There's a big problem with this trip besides the obvious length of the journey, and that's Stu's refusal to have a bachelor party. Well convincing him to have one beer turns into the second, or maybe absolutely craziest night of his, and his friends' entire lives.

My Highlights:
The silent monk, the strip club, Alan's gift to Stu, and the credits.

Overall Rating:
Literally the exact same film as The Hangover 1 with different elements plugged in. The exact same plot, gags, yet somehow with less character development. If you never saw the first Hangover film, don't worry, you can just watch Hangover 2 and not have gained or missed anything than those who only saw Hangover 1. Sure they traded a Tiger for a monkey and had a different unimportant character get lost, but that's about it. Those who see both will likely feel let down that they didn't walk out with the same feeling they had from the first movie, but only because they were watching a repeat. Still, it was a repeat of a good movie, and would get a high score if it weren't for the super secret brownie point reviewer powers. I'm knocking the rating of this film down a full star because it did nothing different than the first film and gave all sequels a bad name by playing to their stereotype. 3 3/4 *'s out of 5, or 7 1/2 *'s out of 10.

When You Should See It:
Either after the third film comes out so you can say you've seen the whole trilogy, or if you haven't seen the first Hangover film. Other than that, don't bother making an effort to see, or to avoid seeing this film.
