The Journey Down: Chapter 2 Review

January 14, 2013 I wrote a review on The Journey Down: Chapter 1. Now, after more than a year and a half the second chapter was released! I'm reviewing the second chapter, and it's going to be tough for me because I'm going to be saying a lot of things I said in the Chapter 1 review over again.

I really enjoyed The Journey Down: Chapter 1! It was a great classic point and click adventure game that showed us a good time with puzzles to solve, a fun story to follow, and humorous character to watch out for! Chapter 2 is exactly that again! I loved it. Had the same three characteristics that I just mentioned. Now I didn't keep a count of how many times I laughed in the first chapter, but I believe I did laugh more in this second chapter.

The Journey Down: Chapter 2 is a great pick up for any fan of point and click adventure games. It's very simple to play and walk around talking to different characters. Just because the game's layout is simple doesn't mean the puzzles are though. The puzzles were fair, but stern! I never felt like I was cheated in a sense that it would be impossible to figure out a puzzle. I kept trying different things, and I managed!

There was one thing I mentioned in The Journey Down: Chapter 1 review that could have made me happier. That they could have added the double click move where clicking twice when you're going to another section of the area will move there instantly. No more having to see your character walk from one side of the area to the other. Doesn't seem that big of a deal, but when you gotta walk back and forth to figure out puzzles it can get a little frustrating. Well in The Journey Down: Chapter 2 they added the double click move! It was the first thing I checked once I was able to move around the game freely! Alright it probably makes me much happier than I should be, but I love when point and click adventure games have this move!

Final Say: I wish I could say more really. The game looks and plays great! It has fun story telling, characters, and environments to interact with. The game has the double click move! I have no complaints. I think if you like point and click adventure games then The Journey Down: Chapter 2 is a must! Though you'll want to play through the first chapter before starting the second for the fun story, and getting to know the characters!
